PM Modi, in the Rajya Sabha session quipped about a new formed group of ‘agitators’ who satisfy their hunger by commenting over the different on-going movements and cannot live without it.  Many people enjoyed the punitive statement made by the PM, while a few criticized it.  Succeeding this statement, a video of Nitin Gadkari a minister of his own government is going viral. In this short 2 minute clip the minister raised his voice against the statement given by the PM and and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad is also present with him. In the video, Nitin Gadkari says that what the Prime Minister is saying is against democracy and agitating against the corrupt leader/government is a constitutional right. Gadkari is saying that the Prime Minister has not given the right to agitate, but the Constitution has given to the country.

Gadkari is clearly heard supporting the agitators in the video and targeting the PM in every way. Along with the video, it is being claimed that Nitin Gadkari has also opposed PM Modi’s statement of ‘agitator’. Anti Fake News War Room (AFWA) has found that the authentic status of this video is absolutely fake as the video dates back to 2011 and the content of the video is entirely misleading. This video is from August 2011 when Nitin Gadkari targeted the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the movement. To claim the false status of this video many social media users shared the original video and captioned “Yesterday Prime Minister Modi ji said something like agitation in the House and today Nitin Gadkari ji is saying this in front of the press against him. Along with Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad ji . They too have passed away.”

Nitin Gadkari was the national president of the BJP at that time and the words heard in the video were spoken by Gadkari for Manmohan Singh. During this time, anti-corruption movement of social activist Anna Hazare was going on in the country. Supporting this movement, Gadkari attacked the then Congress government and said on what basis the Prime Minister is opposing the peaceful movement.
