Randeep Hooda, a top Bollywood actor talking about a Dalit woman, who has been the voice of the oppressed.” Another wrote, “The depravity of the ‘joke’ is unbelievable! And the smugness on his face while narrating this joke seems like the guy has ‘achieved’ something great by telling this joke.”

A screenshot of an advertisement in a newspaper thanking Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for including Tanha peer dargah in the religious tourism circuit and allocating Rs. 100 crores for the project is being shared with the false claim that the entire corpus is being spent on one dargah. The viral claim is being shared on both Facebook and Twitter with a screenshot of an advertisement thanking CM Gehlot for allocating Rs 100 crore for a dargah, which appeared in Hindi daily Rajasthan Patrika. Originally in Hindi, when translated to English the claim reads: “We Hindus are going door to door to collect funds for the Ram Temple. On the other hand, Rajasthan government has allocated Rs 100 crore to a dargah.”

“@RandeepHooda Miss Mayawati is considered “behan” by most of Dalit population of UP. She is not just a politician, a Dalit icon too. Anyway, it is very sexist and misogynistic comment. Suppose anyone saying saying this to your sister? Apologize,” expressed another user.

“It took me a while to understand this, and I realised that we are still living in such a feeble society. How casteist, misogynistic & sexist slur was that. @RandeepHooda. Praising her strength in politics against all of her odds wouldn’t have caused you any harm,” wrote another user.

Senior activist and CPIML leader also shared her thoughts and commented on the video, “Not a “joke” @RandeepHooda. You notice no one makes “jokes” saying a male politician is too ugly to f**? You are doing what casteist, misogynist, insecure t*ds do when confronted with women whose strength they fear: attack the woman as unattractive.” There has not been any response from the officials on the matter against Randeep.

Many were disturbed by the clip and stated that Hooda should apologise. “This is horrid,” wrote one, while another commented, “Randeep Hooda, apologise.” Yet another person lambasted Hooda and posted a comment which read, “Randeep Hooda, is this your mindset about a lady who was 4 times CM of a State? This is sickness.” Randeep Hooda is yet to respond on the matter. Earlier, many Indian stand-up comedians and digital influencers too were called out on social media for making casteist and sexist jokes or tweets in the past.

After Abish Mathew, Randeep Hooda has been receiving flak for a ‘joke’ on former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.  Netizens have now demanded that the actor be arrested for his remark.

Actor Randeep Hooda hasn’t reacted or issued any statement regarding the video yet. The Once Upon A time in Mumbai star, however, shared one post, a photo of a tiger, and wrote, ‘No matter how fast you run, no matter where you hide, I will catch you’, which was considered as a cryptic post amid the controversy.
