A 2018 image went viral yet again. According to the viral image, the BJP members are strictly prohibited from entering a village, Ugna Jagdishpur in Bihar’s Bhojpur. There is even a warning written on the board that if BJP people come to the village, their legs will be broken. Netizens posted this picture with sarcastic captions like that the good days of BJP have started. Another version of the photograph claims that the sign is posted outside Kyotapatti in Kishanpur, Bihar with the same warning for BJP workers.

A Twitter user Ayushmaan Khari tweeted an image on 28 October, 2018 that carried the same image. The sign in this tweet identified the village as Kachera Varsabad and read “MP Mahesh Sharma’s adopted village”. The user tagged MLA Mahesh Sharma and added that he might understand now.

On further looking into the matter, it was found that the villagers were enraged and had put up the signboard as the villagers were demanding higher compensation for the land which was acquired from them for a real estate project in 2010. They also alleged that they were promised roads, clean water and hospitals but the developer only built some roads in the region. The villagers had alleged that no BJP leader, including Sharma, ever came to help them.

Residents of a Greater Noida village adopted by Union Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma have put up a signboard at the entry, saying BJP members are not allowed inside. The board was installed on Sunday after officials from the local administration and employees of a realty group allegedly destroyed standing crops of farmers.

Tejinder Nagar (35), a farmer and resident of Kachera village in Badalpur, alleged, “Five days ago, we all woke up to around 25-30 excavators destroying crops we had sown six months ago. A force of around 100 policemen had made a perimeter around the tractors so that no villager could disrupt the work. When we asked questions, we were greeted with lathis.”

Circle Officer (Greater Noida 3) Nishank Sharma said around 84 villagers, including the pradhan, were arrested following law and order problems. “We have deployed extra police force in the area,” he said.

Kachheda Warsabad village is located in Dadri Tehsil of Gautam Buddha Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated 8km away from sub-district headquarter Dadri and 17km away from district headquarter Gautam Buddha Nagar. As per 2009 stats, Kachheda Warsabad village is also a gram panchayat. The total geographical area of village is 409.82 hectares. Kachheda Warsabad has a total population of 4,855 peoples. There are about 789 houses in Kachheda Warsabad village. Dadari is nearest town to Kachheda Warsabad which is approximately 8km away.

The villagers said that they were beaten by the police for stopping them from ruining the crop. The police had also arrested some villagers for disturbing law and order. Actually, this dispute between the farmers and the real estate group was going on for a long time. Real Estate Group had bought this village land in the year 2005-06. But according to the villagers, the company did not start work on the land, and hence the farmers kept on cultivating it. One day the officials came to get the land vacated without giving any notice and started destroying crops worth lakhs. Thus, the claims are spread across the internet without any specific ground.
