Delhi recorded 332 more COVID-19 fatalities and 17,364 new infections on this Saturday amid this, 35 years old Actor-YouTuber Rahul Vohra died on Sunday at a hospital in Delhi due to COVID-19 complications, theatre director-playwright Arvind Gaur confirmed. Rahul Vohra hailed from Uttrakhand. He is survived by wife Jyoti Tiwari who used to act and write scripts for videos with Rahul. He had 1.9 million followers on Facebook and his videos used to reach 100 million views. He also featured on Netflix film Unfreedom. He started his career with theatre in Delhi. Vohra had posted his condition earlier on his Facebook post. He was admitted at the Rajeev Gandhi Super Speciality hospital, Tahirpur and was shifted to Ayushman Hospital, Dwarka, on Saturday evening. On Saturday, Vohra in a Facebook post had tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and asked for better treatment.  Vohra wrote, “If I would have got better treatment maybe I could be saved. (Mujhe bhi accha treatment mil jaata to mai bhi bach jaata tumhara Irahul Vohra).”  Sharing details of himself as the patient, Rahul further wrote, “Jald janam lunga or acha kaam karunga. Ab himmat haar chuka hu (I will be reborn and do some good work. Now, I have lost all courage).”

Gaur confirmed the news of Vohra’s demise on Facebook. He wrote, “Rahul Vohra is gone, my talented actor is no more. It was only yesterday that he told me his life could have been saved if he got better treatment. He was shifted to Ayushman, Dwarka last evening but we could not save him. Please forgive us, we are all your culprits. My last respects.”  Many actors and directors like Raj Shaandilya and Amit Pachauri, who had worked with him, shared the news of his death on social media. They even shared their condolences to the late actor’s family. YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani tweeted from his twitter account paying his last tribute to the veteran actor, he wrote,

“Extremely shocked to hear about passing of Rahul vohra

 I used to talk to him in very early times of my career

 Very humble and skilled personality

His passing away is a complete shock

 I don’t have words.

A talent gone too soon

Condolences to his family

 Om shanti”

Several others from the industry have paid their condolences to the late actor. Recently, the 74 year veteran actor Thilak, who made his debut with the 1981 Tamil film ‘Kalthoon’, popularly known as Kalthoon Thilak after the film’s success, is the latest from the Tamil film fraternity to lose his life due to the deadly coronavirus. Senior journalist and AajTak’s star anchor Rohit Sardana passed away at a Noida hospital on 30th April due to heart attack while on his post covid recovery state. Shankanada Aravind is the latest member of the Kannada film industry to succumb to coronavirus The actor was being treated at a hospital in Bengaluru for the last ten days. On Friday, he passed away due to Covid-19 complications. He was 70. Also, Ajay Sharma, who edited Bollywood films such as ‘Jagga Jasoos’, ‘Ludo’, ‘Karwaan’, and the hit web series ‘Bandish Bandits’, died on May 4 due to complications arising from COVID-19 in Delhi. He was working on Taapsee Pannu’s ‘Rashmi Rocket’, before his death.

Since the second Covid wave jolted the country last month, social media has been flooded with desperate pleas for oxygen beds, ventilators and basic medical resources, with the health infrastructure stretched to its limits. Covid-19 has left us with many unexpected and untimely deaths which are hard to accept and still the number in the death tolls keep on increasing day by day.
