23rd January, is observed as the birth anniversary of the Netaji. It’s widely known as “Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti” or “Parakram Diwas”. On 23rd January 2021 we commemorated the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji. The President, Ramnath Kovind also unveiled the portrait of Netaji at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in the remembrance of the great soul. Nonetheless to mention his grand contributions towards the achievement of our glorious freedom. Bose was known for his quick decisions and his bold moves. As a youngster, he was brilliant in his academics and grew rebellious towards the cruel rule of the Britishers and wanted to fight back. He cracked the Indian Civil Service examinations at a very young age, yet he declined to serve the British Government. Bose joined the Indian National Congress(INC). He worked with many well known people like Mahatma Gandhi, Rash Behari Bose, Jawaharlal Nehru, Mohan Singh, etc. Bose also visited Hitler and impressed him with his sharp tactics and judgement, he also worked with the Japanese Force. Bose formed the Forward Bloc and the Azad Hind Fauj and was given the nickname of ‘Netaji’ by the Indian soldiers in Germany. The famous Bard of Bengal Rabindranath Tagore quoted him as “Desh Nayak”.
Netaji’s way of leading and living was and still is deeply admired by alots of people, plenty of people are still curious about his history and personal life. The renowned Victoria Memorial in Kolkata was built and established between 1906-1921. One of the relics displayed in the ongoing exhibition at the museum is reported as a fake. The relic depicts the resignat0ion letter by Netaji from the Indian Civil Services. Reliable sources have confirmed them as FAKE. The Harvard University professor and son of Dr Sisir Bose said the authentic photocopy of Netaji’s resignation letter from the ICS has been with the bureau for about 50 years. He urged the authorities to “take the fake copy down”. Sisir Kumar Bose and Krishna Bose had found Netaji’s original letter of resignation in his own handwriting and signed by him to the Secretary of State for India in the India Office of Records of London in September 1971. The possibility of information like this going public like this is low as even during his “mahanishkraman” or great escape, no photographs of Netaji in disguise were taken or allowed to be taken.
The family members are utterly disappointed and shocked by the carelessness of the museum authorities Bose also added that the authority should have thoroughly gone through the authentication process as the exhibition was inaugurated by the Prime Minister as it is extremely embarrassing for the Prime Minister to have inaugurated an exhibition with a fake item on display.
