With elections approaching, every political party is waiting for their turn to claim over the country and is putting their best sincere efforts. Although, amid all the campaigns, people still would try to find the loopholes to know the true intentions of the group. Among all such parties, Aam Admi Party(AAP) formally launched on 26 November 2012; is currently the ruling party of the Nation’s capital, Delhi. It came into existence following differences between activists Arvind Kejriwal and Anna Hazare regarding whether or not to politicise the popular India Against Corruption movement that had been demanding a Jan Lokpal Bill since 2011. Hazare preferred that the movement should remain politically unaligned, while Kejriwal felt the failure of the agitation route necessitated direct political involvement. The Party won the 2013 elections and made a stunning electoral debut by defeating Delhi’s three-time Congress Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also announced that his party will contest all the seats in the 2022 Gujarat assembly elections. As soon as he mentioned this, a short clip took the internet by storm, in which the Chief Minister is seen threatening in a speech that if the Gujaratis oppose him, they will crush them. The video went viral and took over the internet in a few moments, where Kejriwal can be heard saying, “People of Gujarat, if you protest against me, then you shall be crushed, what you can do about that go do.”
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Harsh Sanghavi, from Majura, Gujarat shared this video and wrote as caption, “Why Kejriwal hates Gujarat.” Harsh Sanghvi’s tweet has also received more than a thousand likes and retweets.
Anti fake News War Room (AFWA) has confirmed that this video is defaced as this is an incomplete video which is creating confusion among people. In the entire video, Arvind Kejriwal is accusing Amit Shah of dictatorship, saying in reference to Amit Shah that he is crushing. The viral clip has been cropped from a speech of Arvind Kejriwal from October 2016 in Surat, Gujarat where he was referring to Home Minister Amit Shah, criticising him for the way the party treats protesters. Kejriwal said, “Amit Shah has a warning for Gujarat, Amit Shah has a challenge for Gujarat that I will run Gujarat as I wish, if you protest against me then I will crush you, and people of Gujarat what you can do about it go do.” Hence, the viral video is totally misleading and impermissible as Kejriwal did not attack Gujrat rather he only put forth his opinion about the ruling authority.
