Recently pop singer Rihanna, environmental activist Greta Thunberg and Mia Khalifa supported the ongoing peasant movement in India.    The ongoing farmers’ protest of the country is drawing attention of every single citizen towards it. Many eminent celebrities, leaders, players have commented about the matter including master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Lately, a short video clip of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is going viral, featuring Sharad Pawar being slapped publicly by a man. It is being claimed that in  response  to the statement made by Sharad Pawar recently about Sachin  Tendulkar , a man slapped him. Following Sachin’s tweet, NCP leader Sharad Pawar instructed him to “take care while speaking about any other area”.

The Anti Fake News War Room (AFWA) found that this incident of slapping Sharad Pawar took place on 24 November 2011 in Delhi. Pawar was the Union Minister of Agriculture at that time. A man named Arvinder Singh slapped him for rising inflation.  Sharad Pawar was slapped by a man named Arvinder Singh alias Harvinder on 24 November 2011. The incident took place at the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) headquarters in the capital when Pawar was walking out of the building premises after attending a literary event. This entire incident was captured on camera. At that time NDTV had reported the news about an incident. The person who attacked Pawar was later arrested. He allegedly attacked Pawar over the rising prices of essential commodities. When the security personnel started to take him away, he was shouting, “This is my answer to the corrupt leaders.” It is clear from the investigation that the incident of Sharad Pawar slapping a person is of 2011. This has nothing to do with Pawar’s statement on Tendulkar

The same man is reported to have slapped the Union Telecom Minister Sukhram in the Delhi High Court premises. Sukhram was sentenced to five years in prison in a corruption case.
