The latest F.R.I.E.N.D.S reunion trailer, the episode, also called The One Where They Get Back Together, opens with David Schwimmer asking his co-stars about the length of the letter Rachel wrote for Ross before they got back together. They revisit many such iconic moments throughout the trailer, leaving the audience with nostalgia. The actors get emotional as they reminisce the time they spent together as Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler, Monica and Ross while shooting for the show. The Friends reunion episode will premiere on streaming service HBO Max on May 27. However, HBO Max is currently not available in India.
David Schwimmer recently talked about the Friends reunion special in a conversation with People magazine. He said, “This cast in these roles and the collaborative spirit that the writers kind of invited where we all were playing at the same level, at the highest level I think, in terms of sitcom, that we could play at. I think it was ‘a dream come’ true for all of us, and I think we realised it really early on.”
Friends: The Reunion has a huge list of guests, apart from the show’s cast, the guest list comprises of actors, sportsmen, activists, musicians, and others. David Beckham, Justin Beiber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon and Malala Yousafzai will appear in the episode. It is directed by Ben Winston and executive produced by Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman, and David Crane, Friends: The Reunion was filmed at the original soundstage, Stage 24, at the Warner Bros. studio lot in Burbank.
On Wednesday 20th May, 2021, the official account of F.R.I.E.N.D.S shared the video of the trailer on its Instagram handle and wrote, “Friends: The Reunion. THE BREAK IS OVER.”
In the video, the star cast plays the quiz game, just like their characters did in the show back then. David asks, “Rachel wrote Ross a letter and demanded he read it before they got back together. How many pages were in that letter?” Matt replies, “18 pages.” While David waits for him to complete the sentence, excited Jennifer says, “Front and back.”
Jennifer Anniston and David Schwimmer agreeing to the fact that “Ross and Rachel were on a break,” is the highlight in the trailer of the F.R.I.E.N.D.S reunion. “Everyone was so perfectly cast in the show,” says David Schwimmer in a scene and we agree to him. All of them read their respective scripts as they recall a few episodes such as “The One Where Everyone Finds Out.” Lisa can be seen mouthing Phoebe’s dialogue from the episode and it is so cool to watch her in the character again.”
Jennifer Anniston, David Schwimmer, Courtney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Matt Le Blanc shared the trailer on their respective Instagram handles. Jennifer wrote, “I love my friends Leaving this here…#FriendsReunion.”
In the trailer Tom Selleck and Maggie Wheeler were there too in a few scenes. While Tom played the role of Monica’s boyfriend Richard, Maggie was cast as Chandler’s girlfriend Janice in the show. Although after a wait for so long, the reunion is finally here!
