The growing scale of unemployment or underemployment possesses a major threat to the youth generation of the country which is looking forward to a bright future.
Students from across the nation have stormed Twitter to criticise Prime Minister Modi on the rising unemployment by trending hashtags like #modijobdo (Give us jobs, Modi) and #modirojgardo. Trends like #modijobdo, #modirojgardo, #studentdemands and #unemployment are all over Twitter with #modijobdo trending with 4.63 million tweets by the time of filing this story. Sagan Pratap tweeted, “Students are just asking for a fair and timely job recruitment process. There is no politics, no party, no agenda, no propoganda. It’s an andolan of yuva. #modi _job_do ,# modi_rojgar_do”. Through the social media on the issue of youth unemployment, the Narendra Modi government and the BJP governments in other states are surrounded. Millions of youth are demanding employment from the Prime Minister using the hashtag ‘#modi_job_do’.
As for the demands of the students, another user, Indra Sarkri, wrote, “We want 1) Timely exam 2) Increase in vacancies 3)Fair exams 4) Waiting list 5) Year by year notifications 6) Joining within 1 year.” Political parties also jumped on the trend started by students and criticised the government, with JDU leader Tejasvi Yadav saying India’s human resource is abjectly unemployed and under employed.
Tejasvi wrote, “Most important resource for a country is Human Resource! Else all other resources mean nothing! India’s Human resource is abjectly unemployed & under employed, causing aggravation of lot of social issues. Diversionary tactics by the Govt is intensifying the problem!”
Meanwhile, a picture of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is becoming viral on social media. In the picture, Akshay Kumar is seen standing with a poster in hand. “Yogi Ji Rojgar Do” appears on the poster. Another similar picture of Akshay Kumar is going viral in which “Modi ji Rojgar Do”. A Twitter user shared this picture and wrote in the caption, “Take it now, brothers too, Yogi ji should listen to them; Enough of unemployment hit the youth of Uttar Pradesh #yogiji_vacaancy_clearkariye #yogi_rojgar_do.”
Anti Fake News War Room (AFWA) has found out that this picture has been tampered and in the original image, the actor is holding a poster and “DilSe Thankyou” written on it. In the original post, Akshay Kumar on Twitter photo Corona April last year to promote the Warriors 2020 Post did. Sharing this photo, Akshay Kumar wrote in the caption, “On behalf of me and my family … Police, municipal workers, doctors, nurses, NGO’s, volunteers, government officials, vendors, guards of the building #DilSeThankYou ”. Thus, the post going viral is a tampered image and not real.
